DESCRIPTION:Knights of Columbus District Free Throw Championship\nThe District championship will be held at St. Joseph Catholic High School 600 S Jupiter Rd\, Richardson\, TX 75081 on Saturday\, February 8\, 2025. \nRegistration will begin at 2:30pm.  The event will last from 3:00pm-5:30pm.\n\nOnce the competition for an age group has been completed\, no late arrivals can be accommodated.\nOnce all age groups have finished\, we will go into the awards ceremony.\n\nWe will have a need for Brother Knights to assist in running the contest.  They must be SEP cleared.

I hope that you will be able to help us with the upcoming basketball events. We will need extra help on Feb 22 because 3 locations are being used. \nSaturday\, Feb 22; Basketball Tournament\nThree sites in Grand Prairie (Exact locations TBD)\nShift #1: 11AM – 2:30PM Shift #2: 2:00PM – 6PM\n15 Men needed per shift \nTues Mar 4\, Mon Mar 10\, Tues Mar 11\, Wed Mar 12 – North Basketball Skills\nStephen G. Terrel Rec Center\n1680 W. Exchange Pkwy\nAllen\, TX 75013\nTwo award areas. One shift: 9:00AM – 1:30 PM 12 men needed each day \nTues\, Mar 18 – South Basketball Skills\nCedar Hill High School\n1 Longhorn Drive Cedar Hill\, TX 75104-3740\nOne award area. One shift: 9:00AM – 1:30 PM 6 men needed\nThis event will be handled by Council 8157 (Jim Kowalski) \nTHE KNIGHTS WILL HANDLE THE PRESENTATION OF THE AWARDS TO THE ATHLETES. \nAssisting the athletes is entertaining and worthwhile as well as a very rewarding experience. \nKNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SAFE ENVIRONMENT GUIDELINES: \nWe have been informed by the Knights of Columbus Safe Environment Chair all members of the Knights of Columbus and their family members are encouraged to assist with the upcoming Special Olympics events. All volunteers that do assist should be Safe Environment cleared; otherwise\, they will be paired with a volunteer that has been cleared. Non-Catholic volunteers are welcome to assist with the presentation of awards and will be paired with a volunteer that has been safe environment cleared. \nThis event will be another enjoyable and rewarding experience and can be used as one of the service programs toward your Star Council and Wings Awards. \nPlease contact me at 972-740-7309 or philcoup1@gmail.com as soon as possible and let me know which dates/shifts you can work. SUMMARY:KofC Free Diocesan Throw Championship
DESCRIPTION:Knights of Columbus Diocesan Free Throw Championship\nDD Kebran Alexander of District 109 is our main point of contact and the championship will be held at Bishop Dunne Catholic School in Dallas on Sunday\, February 23\, 2025. \nRegistration will begin at 11:30am.  The event will last from noon-3pm. \nOnce the competition for an age group has been completed\, no late arrivals can be accommodated.\nOnce all age groups have finished\, we will go into the awards ceremony. \n\nParticipant Information\n\n\n\nDon’t be late!!!  Registration will occur from 11:30am-12:30pm.\nThe free throw competition begins promptly at 12:45pm.\nAll participants must have the current\, valid form for this year’s competition.  Birth date that counts provides the age as of January 1\, 2025.  Once birth date has been verified\, please write “BD VERIFIED” on the top right corner of the form (Please make sure that contact information for the parent on the form is legible).\nAge groups will be scheduled once we have identified the number of participants from each group who are present and signed in by 12:30pm.\nAll winners will advance to the K of C State Free Throw Competition on March 8\, 2025 at Ed White Middle School in San Antonio\, TX. The formal notification for those advancing will be sent by email.\n\n\n\nOnce the competition for an age group has been completed\, no late arrivals can be accommodated. \nOnce all age groups have finished\, we will go into the awards ceremony after tabulation of results. \n  \n\n\nKnights Information\nWe will have a need for Brother Knights to assist in running the contest.  They must be SE cleared (please bring and wear your SE badge from your parish).   Please provide names and Council numbers for volunteering brother Knights (volunteer credit). \nIf the DD will not be present\, please identify a brother Knight who will serve as the representative from your district who will bring the valid forms for the participants (or master list of District Participants advancing) and/or assist with the tournament\, as needed.  This information can be emailed to me at Kebran_Alexander@hotmail.com no later than 5pm February 22nd. \nFor the Knights who are assisting: \n\nSet Up at 11:00am\nRegistration will begin at 11:30am.\nThe event will last from approximately noon-3pm.\n\nHelp us to minimize confusion with the parents and participants by emphasizing the need to be on time in order to be considerate of all who will be involved. \n\nIf anyone has any questions\, please (have them) call me directly at 301-404-1269. \nVivat Jesus!!! \nSK Kebran Alexander\nDD #109\nCoordinator\nDallas Diocese Free Throw Competition \n  \n
