I thank each of you for stepping up to assist in making this the Best Convention Ever! One thing that needs to come to our immediate attention is that the Convention will be held Friday May 5 through Sunday May 7. This is a change that Mike McLaughlin confirmed with me just a bit ago. Please update your calendars to reflect this change and I apologize for any issues this may incur. \nWe just got back from the Corpus Christi Convention and as I am sure many that attended\, saw some things that we can use to improve our plans! I plan to have a meeting of our committee on Saturday May 14 to begin the initial conversations and planning. Please confirm by replying to this email that you are available the morning of 5-14. I plan to begin at 9:00 and be done by 11 and plan to hold this at 6402 Council Hall in Garland. I will confirm this later this week. \nI have the minutes from the 2020 Convention that never took place. Please email me if any of you would like a copy to review what was planned. Please put your teams together if you haven’t done so already. If you have an assistant co-chair already assigned\, have this person join us on the 14th. We pray that it was a good year for all of you and that 2019-20 will be even better for our Diocese\, the Great State of TX and the Order! \nWith the 2018-19 State Convention well behind us\, we now need to put our attention on the State Convention to be held here is Dallas April 24-26\, 2020. Thank you once again for stepping up and volunteering to help make this Convention the best yet! Hopefully by now each Committee Chair has selected their team members and the planning process has begun. \nWe plan our second meeting for Saturday July 27 beginning at 9:00. The meeting will be held at Council 799 Hall. Each of the Chairs and any members of their teams and/or additional volunteers are invited to attend. Our goal is to expand on ideas presented in April and nail down a few specifics. Please plan to attend and reply back to me confirming your attendance.
