I hope that you will be able to join us for the upcoming Track and Field event. \nDALLAS DIOCESAN KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS VOLUNTEER REQUEST\nSPECIAL OLYMPICS OF TEXAS – AREA 10 TRACK and FIELD COMPETITION\nAPRIL 12\, 2025\nSPECIAL OLYMPICS TRACK and FIELD COMPETITION\nAllen High School Track Stadium\n300 Rivercrest Blvd\, Allen\, TX 75002 \nSATURDAY – April 12\, 2025  FROM 9:00AM TO 5:00 PM \nBrother Knights will be in charge of the awarding of medals. This is an outdoor event and spouses\, children\, and friends are welcome. It is a great opportunity for families to attend. Women are invited to help with the handling of the medals and children are invited to cheer for the athletes as they enter the awards area and receive their awards. Assisting the athletes of the Special Olympics is entertaining and worthwhile as well as a very rewarding experience.    \nSATURDAY\, April 12 \n\nSHIFT #1    9:00AM TO 1:30 PM\nSHIFT #2    1:00PM to 5:00 PM\n\nThere will be two awards areas\, so we will need lots of help. Feel free to work one or both shifts\, however you are able to work them into your busy schedule. Any time that you can spend assisting the athletes of the Special Olympics is greatly appreciated. \nKNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SAFE ENVIRONMENT GUIDELINES:\nWe have been informed by the Knights of Columbus Safe Environment Chair that all members of the Knights of Columbus and their family members are encouraged to assist with the upcoming Special Olympics events.  All Knights volunteers   should be Safe Environment cleared;  Other non-Knights volunteers and family members are welcome to assist with the presentation of awards and will be paired with a volunteer that has been safe environment cleared. \nPlease respond to Phil Coup\, Diocesan Coordinator for Special Olympics\, at  philcoup1@gmail.com or 972-740-7309 as soon as possible and let me know if you can help and which shift(s). \nThanks in advance from all of the Special Olympics athletes. \nFraternally\, \nPhil Coup\, KofC Special Olympics Coordinator for the Diocese of Dallas

We will need extra help on Feb 22 because 3 locations are being used. \nSaturday\, Feb 22; Basketball Tournament\nThree sites in Grand Prairie (Exact locations TBD)\nShift #1: 11AM – 2:30PM Shift #2: 2:00PM – 6PM\n15 Men needed per shift \nTues Mar 4\, Mon Mar 10\, Tues Mar 11\, Wed Mar 12 – North Basketball Skills\nStephen G. Terrel Rec Center\n1680 W. Exchange Pkwy\nAllen\, TX 75013\nTwo award areas. One shift: 9:00AM – 1:30 PM 12 men needed each day \nTues\, Mar 18 – South Basketball Skills\nCedar Hill High School\n1 Longhorn Drive Cedar Hill\, TX 75104-3740\nOne award area. One shift: 9:00AM – 1:30 PM 6 men needed\nThis event will be handled by Council 8157 (Jim Kowalski) \nTHE KNIGHTS WILL HANDLE THE PRESENTATION OF THE AWARDS TO THE ATHLETES. \nAssisting the athletes is entertaining and worthwhile as well as a very rewarding experience. \nKNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SAFE ENVIRONMENT GUIDELINES: \nWe have been informed by the Knights of Columbus Safe Environment Chair all members of the Knights of Columbus and their family members are encouraged to assist with the upcoming Special Olympics events. All volunteers that do assist should be Safe Environment cleared; otherwise\, they will be paired with a volunteer that has been cleared. Non-Catholic volunteers are welcome to assist with the presentation of awards and will be paired with a volunteer that has been safe environment cleared. \nThis event will be another enjoyable and rewarding experience and can be used as one of the service programs toward your Star Council and Wings Awards. \nPlease contact me at 972-740-7309 or philcoup1@gmail.com as soon as possible and let me know which dates/shifts you can work.
