DESCRIPTION:First Degree Exemplification Ceremony will be conducted by Council 8157’s Degree Team. \nAll candidates be present at 7:00 pm for ante-chamber work\, with the degree beginning at 7:30 pm. \nComplete registration includes a complete degree kit presented by a council officer to the host council registrar. A complete kit consist of the following: completed form 100\, KofC Rosary\, KofC lapel pin\, “These Men They Call Knights” booklet\, completed Membership Card. The Candidate’s form 100 will be returned to the council officer once registration is complete and the Candidate’s council will be responsible for submitting it to the Supreme Council. \nIf you have a Catholic friend or family member who might be interested in joining the Knights of Columbus\, please invite him to join by contacting your Membership Director and/or Grand Knight to arrange a meeting with him as soon as possible. SUMMARY:Bob Stras Dallas Classic Basketball Tournament
DESCRIPTION:The 2018 edition of the Tournament will take place between Thursday November 29th and Saturday December 1st and is shaping up very nicely. Once again\, 8 boys teams will compete at Dallas Jesuit and 8 girls teams will compete at Bishop Lynch High School. In the boys bracket\, Nolan Catholic rejoins the tournament\, St. Ignatius Jesuit returns from San Francisco and Dallas Lincoln joins a group of top local talent. In the girls bracket\, Bishop Dunne has returned to the Tournament for the first time in several years as well as Ursuline and St. Teresa’s Academy of Kansas City. As always the competition and excitement should be great at both host schools and as an added plus\, both host schools are expanding the use of “live streaming” for those fans that can’t make it to the games in person.

Each shift should be comprised of at least 15 volunteers to keep the movement of the athletes in an orderly fashion. We will be presenting the awards at two stations inside the bowling lanes as we did last year. You are welcome to help during one or more shifts on Saturday and as many days as you can fit into your busy schedules. \nThe women are invited to help with the handling of the medals and ribbons and the children are invited to cheer for the athletes when they receive their awards. Only the Knights will assist in the presentation of the awards to the athletes. \nKNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SAFE ENVIRONMENT GUIDELINES:\nWe have been informed by the Knights of Columbus Safe Environment Chair all members of the Knights of Columbus and their family members are encouraged to assist with the upcoming Special Olympics events. All volunteers that do assist should be Safe Environment cleared; otherwise\, they will be paired with a volunteer that has been cleared.
