Sizzling Success at the Bishop’s Summer Cookout at 799!
Brother Knights! Holy Trinity Seminary in Irving once again served as host for our 4th annual Bishop’s Summer Cookout on August 7th. Council 799-Dallas continues to partner with the Dallas Diocese to plan and execute this annual event.
Picture this: 70 of our amazing priests gathered under one roof, including our very own Dallas Bishop Edward Burns. The vibe was all about fellowship and fun. – because who says summer can’t end with a bang (or a sizzle)?
Now, let’s talk grub – oh man, the menu was a meat-lover’s dream! We dished out pulled pork sandwiches piled high and begging for extra sauce, juicy sausages, chicken breast grilled to perfection, hearty baked beans, fresh salad to keep things balanced, and desserts that had us all sneaking seconds. It was barbecue bliss, folks – the kind that makes you loosen your belt a notch and high-five the chef.
A huge shoutout to everyone who made this shindig shine: the volunteers who manned the grills like pros, the priests who brought their A-game appetites, and Bishop Burns for leading the charge with grace and good humor. Special credit goes to KC799 Brother Mark Carey, Council Grand Knight Patrick Dillon and Fourth Degree District Marshal Jim Hale for their top-notch organizing that pulled it all together seamlessly!
Events like these remind us why we’re proud to be part of the Knights of Columbus – building community one brisket at a time!
In service and smiles,
The Knights of Columbus Dallas Council 799 Team
