Roger Scott was a legend among Knights and the Pro-Life Community in the State of Texas, especially in the Diocese of Dallas. He dedicated his life to service and to his Catholic faith. Roger started his journey with the Knights of Columbus in 1979 at Council 2473 in Arlington Texas. In subsequent years he was a member and Grand Knight of Santa Maria Council 6065 at St. Mark’s parish in Plano as well as a Trustee and active member of Lumen Christi Council 13520, All Saints parish in Dallas. He became a Fourth Degree Knight in 1989 joining Abram J. Ryan Assembly 1087 and was also a member of Christopher Columbus Assembly 2266 for several years. He served as District Deputy for many years in Dallas before rising to Diocesan Deputy for the Dallas Diocese, a position he held for an unprecedented 12 years!

A Posthumous “Triumvirate Fellow”
SK Roger J. Scott (August 30,1937 – September 30, 2026)
In addition to his many accomplishments as a Knight, Roger served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a founding member of Birth Choice Pregnancy Center and remained on the Board of Directors for its successor organization, Catholic Pro-Life Community Dallas (CPLC). He also served on the Board of Directors of Hike For Life. He dedicated a large part of his life to protecting the unborn and supporting expectant mothers. Roger lived a good and full life and mentored and inspired many Knights and others over the years and the world and Dallas are much better places for Roger having been here.
One of the many honors bestowed upon Roger was that in 2003 he became a Cardinal Medeiros Fellow, which is a very special honor bestowed on only about 400 Brothers over 28 years in the entire State of Texas. The Cardinal Medeiros Fellow program was created to increase donations to Texas State Council Charities and to recognize and honor exemplary Knights, living or deceased, who have made special contributions to our Order. Recently, that program has been expanded to include two additional stages (a Cardinal DiNardo Fellowship and a Cardinal Farrell Fellowship) after which a Knight receiving all three can then be recognized as a “Triumvirate Fellow”. These additional stages require a $1000 donation each, which benefit retired priests and Seminarians. To learn more about the Triumvirate Fellow program please see the Texas State Council website (tkofc.org) but we need your help in raising the additional $2,000.00 needed to make Roger a Triumvirate Fellow!
We cannot think of a more deserving and special Knight to be included in the first class of Triumvirate Fellows than SK Roger Scott, albeit posthumously. We are seeking donations from individuals and Councils or Assemblies to help make this a reality. Please visit the Dallas Diocese Chapter “Store” at kofcdallas.org or click on the link below to donate to this worthy cause. Thank you!
