Knights of Columbus Pilgrim Icon Program: Faith in Action Program

Worthy Grand Knights!

Close to Star Council and Need a Faith Program? Consider the Pilgrim Icon program

What is the Pilgrim Icon Program?

  • Every few years, the Knights of Columbus selects an icon particularly inspiring to Knights and their communities. Each jurisdiction is provided an icon which travels from council to council and serves as the centerpiece for prayer services in parishes throughout the Order. The current icon is the Sacred Heart of Jesus, pictured below
  • The Icon is placed in the church or gathering space, and a prayer service is held with the gathered community of Knights, Parishioners, and Community Members
  • The Prayer Service takes approximately 1 hour, and consists of:
    • Liturgy of the Word (Reading, Psalm, Gospel)
    • Reflections from Pope Francis’ Encyclical Letter “Dilexit Nos”
    • Divine Mercy Chaplet and Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
    • Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart and Consecration to the Sacred Heart
  • Hosting a Pilgrim Icon Ceremony fulfills a Faith Program activity in the Faith In Action for the Star Council Award
  • Prayer books in either English or Spanish Language are provided.
