116th Annual Convention of the Texas State Council Knights of Columbus

This is the official call of the 116th ANNUAL CONVENTION OF THE TEXAS STATE COUNCIL KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS to be held April 24-26, 2020 in Dallas, Texas. Lodging will beat the Hilton Anatole Hotel, located in downtown Dallas at 2201 Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, TX 75207. The hotel will host all convention activities. All forms for Texas State Council and Dallas State Convention Committee activities are included in this State Convention Forms booklet. Feel free to make as many copies of these forms as necessary. Please mail these forms according to the instructions on each form. Note that some forms are submitted to the Texas State Council and some to the Host Committees. Every form in this booklet plus additional information is available online on the Texas State Council website www.tkofc.org

Delegates Certification Form

Financial Secretaries need to file the Delegates Certification Form with the State Office by Thursday, April 2, 2020. Please refer to the backside of the certification form for delegate and alternate requirements and responsibilities. Please print clearly or type all requested information of your elected delegates and alternates. The Grand Knight and Financial Secretary must sign the form. A properly completed and signed Delegates Certification Form will be required before delegates can be seated.

Banquet Reservation Form

You can register online and pay by credit card for your Registration fee, Clergy Luncheon, and State Banquet Tickets. The deadline for ordering tickets for the Clergy Luncheon and State Banquet is Thursday, April 2, 2020. Remember to order banquet tickets for spouses as well. The registration fee is to help cover State Convention expenses. In appreciation, you will receive a special convention commemorative gift from the State Deputy for each registration fee. Complete the Banquet Reservation Form even if you paid online, listing all ticket holders and mail it to the State Office address on the form.

To register online go to www.tkofc.org. On the right side of the home page click on the “Convention 2020” icon. The convention invitation letter from State Deputy Mark Evans will display. Directly below the letter, select the appropriate title – District Deputies, Delegates and Alternates, other council members and guests, or for State Officers, PSD’s, Major Directors, Committeemen, Diocesan Deputies, Assistant Diocesan Deputies, General Agents and Fourth Degree Masters. Click on the one that pertains to your title and register for the convention. On the next page, you will enter how many tickets for each function you want. List all ticket holders in the Special Request box then enter credit card information. Please be sure to enter your Council number. Once you have paid, you will receive a confirmation email.

Hotel Reservations

Follow the instructions on the Hotel Reservation Information page of this booklet when making your room reservations. Reservations must be made by Thursday, April 2, 2020, to ensure the discounted group rates. Rooms and room preferences are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Hotel Parking

The hotel offers self-parking, for $11.00/day. Valet parking is available for $31.00 per day.

Friday, April 24, 2020

The Golf Tournament kicks off the Convention with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start. Transportation will be provided at 6:00 a.m. from the Hilton Anatole.

Convention Registration opens at 10:00 a.m. and continues until 6:00 p.m. outside the Geppetto’s Theater.

The Clergy Seminar and luncheon will be combined and begins at noon until 1:30 p.m. in the Topaz Room. Invite and encourage your Council Chaplain to attend. Order their tickets and accompany them to the clergy seminar and luncheon.

On Friday afternoon, several seminars are planned to help Grand Knights and Officers make their council as successful as possible.

Friday Night Event

Enjoy a wonderful evening. This exciting Casino Night will be in the Imperial Ballroom. More information on this event is found on the information page in this booklet.

Saturday, April 25, 2020

Convention Registration will open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. outside the Geppetto’s Theater.

The Opening Convention Mass begins at 8:00 a.m. in the Chantilly Ballroom. The State Deputy’s report will follow at 9:30 a.m.

The Convention Business Session will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Chantilly Ballroom and end at noon for lunch.

The Ladies Luncheon Program will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Coronado Ballroom.

Grand Knight and Officer training seminars continue beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Caucus Meetings begin at 3:30 p.m. The purpose of the Caucus Meeting is to nominate the Supreme Convention Delegates. The roll call of delegates will be taken.

The Convention Banquet will be at 7:00 p.m. in the Chantilly Ballroom. The doors will open at 6:45 p.m.

Sunday, April 26, 2020

The Memorial Mass and Sunday liturgy are scheduled for 8:00 a.m. in the Chantilly Ballroom. The Sunday Business Session will open at 9:30 a.m.

The Ladies Breakfast is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in the Coronado Ballroom.

Note to the Financial Secretary

Inform your delegates and alternates that they will be required to present a current third-degree membership card before registering as delegates.

Your council must be in good standing with both the Supreme Council and Texas State Council. Your supreme and state per capita must be paid in full. Delegates from councils not in good standing with Supreme Council or Texas State Council cannot be seated as voting delegates.
