Building homes for those in need - District 117

Habitat for Humanity reached out to the Knights of Columbus for help in building a home for the Townsend family in Sherman, TX on May 18th.

Knights from across District 117 pulled together as a team and were able to get the trusses up and installed on the house by midday. This is one of the bigger jobs to accomplish in building a house and the family was extremely appreciative to those Knights that served that day. They are one step closer to moving into a new home.

Group Pic: Pictured are Council 830 PGK Jim Oborny who led the coordination effort with the Habitat for Humanity of Grayson County, District Deputy Michael Kells-Murphy, Grand Knights Frank Ventura (Denison) & Mark Engle (Sherman) and a great group of Knights from Councils 830, 1289 & 16047 (Van Alstyne.)

Other photos are attached showing the work in progress and of the Townsend family.

A job well done Brother Knights – Vivat Jesus!
