Divine Mercy of our Lord in Mesquite, TX Wheelchair Sunday
Father Wilmer and Brother Knights,
Divine Mercy of Our Lord Council #13158 at Divine Mercy of Our Lord Catholic Church in Mesquite, TX., and the Dallas Diocese held a very successful FIRST Annual Wheelchair Sunday over the weekend. They raised $9,725 for 64 wheelchairs.
Since it is estimated that each wheelchair delivered changes and improves an average of 10 lives, it will immediately impact the lives of 640 people.
Their funds, along with those of other Councils, will go towards providing a large container with 280 wheelchairs for the AGUASCALIENTES CRIT Center in Mexico.
Two Our Lady of Guadalupe lithographs were given to donors of $500 or more, and many donation envelopes were handed out.
Thank you so much to Fr. Wilmer Daza for his incredible support of this mission, to Brother Lou Zermeno and your extraordinary council for coordinating the event, to the other Brother Knights who helped, and to the kind and generous parishioners for providing all these life-changing gifts of mobility.
God bless all of you.
Blessings,
Brother Ricardo Guzman-Hefferan

Dear Fr. Wilmer and Brother Knights,
I apologize for the long delay in thanking you for your efforts on behalf of our life-changing mission.
Somehow, Ricardo’s email did not reach my inbox, and he has now forwarded it, as he knows I always thank the people who make what we do possible.
Over the past 25 years, I have witnessed firsthand the transformation of people’s lives when they receive a wheelchair. Children who can go to school for the first time are so happy, and the entire family celebrates. The first mom who hugged me and said that her prayers were answered warmed my heart to the point that I will never forget that blessing.
We are truly blessed to answer prayers with every wheelchair we deliver, and we are sincerely grateful to the people who provide us with the funding, enabling us to live the Gospel.
Thank you for your efforts on behalf of our mission, and I hope you will join us on a wheelchair distribution trip to witness God’s work being done on Earth.
Most sincerely,
Chris
