Prince of Peace Wheelchair Sunday
Father Michael, Father Iyke, Deacon John and Brother Knights,
Prince of Peace Council #11716 in Plano, and the Dallas Diocese, held an extremely successful 15th Annual Wheelchair Sunday over the past two weekends. Including the funds received prior to the first weekend, and between weekends, they raised an incredible $135,580.
This is the 8th year in a row that the donations have been over $100K and they will probably exceed their high of $138,186 set four years ago.
Their funds will provide 280 standard wheelchairs for their Sister Parish in El Progreso, Honduras. They will also provide the remaining 53 of 280 standards wheelchairs and 240 cerebral palsy wheelchairs for the Yucatán CRIT Center in Merida, Mexico.
There were 16 Our Lady of Guadalupe lithographs given out to donors of $500 or more and many donations envelopes handed out.
Thank you so much to Fr. Michael Forge, Fr. Iyke Udemba and Deacon John O’Leary for their awesome support of this mission. Thanks also to the Brother Knights that helped and/or contributed over the two weekends. And so many thanks to very kind and generous Prince of Peace parishioners for again providing so many life changing gifts of mobility.
