THE KNIGHTS WILL HANDLE THE PRESENTATION OF THE AWARDS TO THE ATHLETES. Each shift should be comprised of 15 or more volunteers to enable a smooth, efficient process. We will be presenting the awards at the lanes as we did last year. You are welcome to help during one or more shifts on Saturday and as many days as you can fit into your busy schedules.

This is a great family event. Women are invited to help with the handling of the medals and teenage children are welcome to cheer for the athletes. It is a good opportunity for them to earn volunteer hours.  Only the Knights will assist in the presentation of the awards to the athletes unless we are blessed with some celebrities.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SAFE ENVIRONMENT GUIDELINES:

We have been informed by the Knights of Columbus Safe Environment Chair all members of the Knights of Columbus and their family members are encouraged to assist with the upcoming Special Olympics events.  All volunteers that do assist should be Safe Environment cleared; otherwise, they will be paired with a volunteer that has been cleared.  Non-Catholic volunteers are welcome to assist with the presentation of awards and will be paired with a volunteer that has been safe environment cleared.

Because this is such a big event, please contact me at 972-740-7309 or philcoup1@gmail.comas soon as possible and let me know which days and shifts you can work and your preferred location,if any. I am looking forward to seeing you again!

Thank you in advance for your great support for these special people.

Fraternally,

Phil Coup, Special Olympics Coordinator for Dallas Diocese
