Records Broken for St. Anthony Council 12300 Wheelchair Sunday
St. Anthony Council 12300 with the support of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Wylie held an extremely successfull Wheelchair Sunday over the past weekend. Including the funds received prior to this first weekend, they raised $14,448, with even more donations expected online and by mail. This already tops the previous year’s donations through St. Anthony Council & Parish of $14,176.
These funds will provide 96 standard wheelchairs toward a larger container of wheelchairs going to the CRIT center in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Since an average of 10 lives are improved by each new wheelchair, these new wheelchairs will support around 960 lives in their uses by those in need.
There were five Our Lady of Guadalupe lithographs given out to donors of $500 or more and many donation envelopes handed out. Multiple parishioners gave again and some even more than $500 and already had a lithograph from previous years’ donations.
The council wishes to thank Fr. Tony Densmore, Fr. Francisco Orozco, Deacon Greg Hawley, and Deacon Federico Márquez for their support and encouragement during the weekend. Thanks also to the Brother Knights that helped and contributed at each Mass, including Bill Weber, diocesan director. Most importantly, many thanks to the wonderful parishioners of St. Anthony in Wylie who gave of their treasure this Lenten season.
Lastly, this event counts as the final necessary credit for the Columbian Award for this Fraternal Year for Council 12300. Many thanks to all of the brother Knights of Council 12300 and beyond who have contributed time, talent, and treasure at our events throughout the Fraternal Year so far. More programs are still to come this Fraternal year for St. Anthony Council!
God bless all of you once more for your generosity! I will update this post after our second weekend of collection as more donations arrive online and via envelope in person and by mail.

Dear Fr. Tony and Brother Knights,
Thank you so much again for your generous support of our life-changing mission. Your efforts and compassionate hearts translate directly into the prayers of entire families being answered when their children can attend school for the first time.
We are blessed to have you as an important part of what we do in our Lord’s name, and we thank God for the opportunities you provide to the people we serve.
I hope you will all consider joining us on a wheelchair mission to experience the love and gratitude of the people we touch.
Thank you again, and may God bless you all.
Most Sincerely,
Chris

Father Tony and Brother Knights,
St. Anthony Council #12300 in Wylie, and the Dallas Diocese, held a successful 5th Wheelchair Sunday over the weekend. They collected $13,838, plus received $610 before the weekend, for a total raised of $14,448 for 96 wheelchairs. They have already exceeded the $14,176 raised last fraternal year.
Since it is estimated that each wheelchair delivered changes and improves an average of 10 lives, they will impact the lives of 960 people.
Their funds will go towards providing a large container of 280 wheelchairs for the Aguascalientes, Mexico CRIT Center in Mexico.
There were 8 Our Lady of Guadalupe lithographs given out to donors of $500 or more.
Thank you so much to Father Tony Densmore for his wonderful support of this mission again this year. Thanks also to Grand Knight Aaron Monroe for coordinating the event, Deputy Grand Knight Robert Finley for reading 2 pulpit talks and to the other Brother Knights that helped. And thank you to the St. Anthony parishioners for their kindness and generosity in providing all these life changing gifts of mobility.
God bless all of you.
Blessings,
Bill Weber
