Father Jet and Brother Knights,
New World Council #9903 at St. Michael the Archangel in McKinney, and the Dallas Diocese, held a very successful 4th Annual Wheelchair Sunday over the weekend. Including the $6,450 received before the weekend, they raised $21,257 for 142 wheelchairs.
Since it is estimated that each wheelchair delivered changes and improves an average of 10 lives, they will make an immediate impact in the lives of 1420 people.
This is already a new record for their Council, as it far exceeds the $18,802 for 125 wheelchairs raised two years ago.
Their funds will go towards providing a large container of 280 wheelchairs for the Guerrero Mountain CRIT Center in Mexico.
There were 10 Our Lady of Guadalupe lithographs given out to donors of $500 or more and many donation envelopes handed out.
Thank you so much to Fr. Jet Garcia for his continuing support of this mission and to Brother Andrew Sakelson for again coordinating the event, reading the pulpit talk at the 4 English Masses and helping at all 7 Masses. Thanks also to Brother Ricardo Guzman-Heffferan for reading the pulpit talk at the 3 Spanish Masses and helping. And thanks to the other Brother Knights that helped and to the kind and generous parishioners for providing all these life changing gifts of mobility.
