Texas Wheelchair Mission

Brother Knights,

Attached is the final Wheelchair Mission Donations by Diocese and Council Report for fraternal year 2024-2025. Also attached is the Wheelchair Program Report for the 2025-2026 Texas State Organizational Meeting July 11-13.

Thank you so much and God bless you to the 245 Councils and 5 Assemblies that raised an absolutely incredible jurisdiction record of $1,561,788 for 10,412 wheelchairs in fraternal year 2024-2025. California, our closest competition, raised $334,196 for 2,228 wheelchairs.

Since it is estimated that each wheelchair delivered changes and improves an average of 10 lives, you have impacted the lives of 104,120 people! Through you, so many prayers have been answered.

The goal for District Deputies is to have all their Councils participate in the Wheelchair Program by donating at least $150 for one wheelchair and have at least one of their Councils hold a Wheelchair Sunday. The State goal is to set a new jurisdiction record by exceeding the total from last fraternal year. There were 585 Texas Councils that did not donate this past fraternal year.

If you are considering holding your first ever Wheelchair Sunday, I suggest that you try to schedule it the first half of the fraternal year, when the Wheelchair Mission team is not as busy.

Please make checks payable to American Wheelchair Mission and include the attached donation form in your mailing. To donate online, please visit amwheelchair.org/donate and select “Knights of Columbus” in the Campaign field and enter your Council Number in the Organization/Council field.

If you have any questions about the Wheelchair Program, need help with a Wheelchair Sunday, or need wheelchairs, please contact me in Plano at yankeesweb@tx.rr.com or 214-405-8023 or Assistant Wheelchair Chairman Brian Nelson in San Antonio at abn091951@gmail.com or 210-275-7921.

Blesssings,
Bill Weber
Texas Wheelchair Chairman
