56th Annual Knights of Columbus Bob Stras Dallas Classic Final Results
The 2018 edition of the Knights of Columbus Bob Stras Dallas Classic High School Basketball Tournament took place from November 29th through December 1st and, as usual, both the girls bracket played at Bishop Lynch High School and the boys bracket played at Jesuit Dallas provided some great competition and thrilling finishes! On the boys side, Jesuit Dallas triumphed over 7 competitors to win the championship game by a score of 62 to 40 over Mesquite High School. In the girls competition, Bishop Lynch took Rockwall into overtime and finally triumphed by a score of 49-47. Endyia Rogers of Bishop Lynch was honored as the Most Valuable Player in the girls division while Julius Marble of Jesuit Dallas captured that honor on the boys side.
In addition to the teams and players being honored, two additional awards were recognized during the event. Coach Andy Zihlman of Bishop Lynch recorded his 1000th victory as a head coach on the first night of the Dallas Classic and was honored by the school as well as with a trophy from the Knights of Columbus. Also, referee Jerrel l Daniels, who has refereed at the Tournament since the 70’s was recognized for his long-term presence and professionalism at the Tournament.
The over 12,000 Knights of Columbus of the Dallas Diocese would like to thank the many Councils and Assemblies, individual Knights, affiliated organizations, foundations and corporate partners who support the Tournament and who have done so for many years. It is through their generosity that we are able to produce such a top-notch competitive event year after year and are able to make it a great experience for all of the participants.
The 57th Annual Knights of Columbus Bob Stras Dallas Classic will take place from December 5th to December 7th in 2019 and promises to be an even bigger and better event than ever!
