Blessed Michael McGivney Relic Pilgrimage

St. Mark The Evangelist – Council 6065 – Saturday, May 31st, 2025

WSD Ron Alonzo,

Yesterday St. Mak The Evangelist Parish and Council 6065 hosted the Blessed McGivney Relic at their parish in Plano. It was a great day and our thanks go to Fr. Jason, Deacon Luis Boy, FDD Jake Fleisher, DD Michael Kells Murphy, PGK Freddy Rodriguez, GK Oscar Sanchez, DGK Lupe Moreno, FS Luis Bautista, FA Antonio Maza of the Regan Agency, the parishioners of St Marks, Council Members of 6065 and the Fourth Degree from Assembly 2256 for their help assistance and support of this wonderful day! I am sure I have left out many that assisted but please know we appreciate ALL that everyone did to make this day special!

We had over well 100 people from the parish, council and from throughout the Diocese pay homage to the Relic of Blessed McGivney and participate in a bilingual Rosary and Mass. An inspiring homily was given by Fr. Jason, an active and great supporter of all things Knights of Columbus, on the life and trials of Blessed McGivney! Thank you, Fr. Jason, for your continued support, leadership and guidance. Your words brought to light the challenges that Fr, McGivney faced and reminded all of us to answer the call to be of service to others!

Following Mass, the afternoon concluded with an exemplification performed by the Bilingual Degree Team of 6065. We welcomed in 16 new members from multiple councils of the Diocese of Dallas including but not limited to 6065, 3593, 8954, 6402.

Many pictures were taken throughout the day and we’d like to have posted on our Diocesan website, www.kofcdallas.org. I ask all those that have pictures to share, reach out to our webmaster and DDC Vice President Jorge Ruiz to get all of them posted on our site. SK Jorge can be reached at admin@kofcdallas.org.

WSD, on behalf of all the members of the Knights of Columbus in the Diocese of Dallas, thank you for the honor and privilege to host this event! We will continue to pray for the canonization of Blessed Michael McGivney and maybe one of our prayer intentions may be the final miracle needed!

Vivat Jesus,

Mike Courtney
Diocese of Dallas Diocesan Deputy
