Council 8417 Featured in Texas Knight – Ultrasound Matching Funds Received

St. Joseph Council 8417 is featured in the new issue of the Texas Knight!
Last month I submitted an article describing our Council’s most successful Waxahachie Hike for Life ever. Through the efforts of our Council, St. Joseph’s Parish, and the Ellis County Pro-Life Community, we raised almost $17,000 in our Hike last fall.
I also want to give credit and thanks to our new Waxahachie H4L Organizing Committee, which consisted of 14 people, including six Knights and their wives. They dedicated many hours planning and organizing the Hike, and they personally raised thousands of dollars.
We dedicated $13,000 of that money towards the purchase of a sonogram machine and then applied for and received $13,000 in matching funds from the KC Ultrasound Initiative. With the $26,000, FirstLook Center, Ellis County’s only Christian Pregnancy Care Center, purchased a new state-of-the-art ultrasound.
