St. Jude Wheelchair Sunday

Father Andrew and Brother Knights,

St. Jude Council #11293 in Allen, and the Dallas Diocese, held a very successful 2nd Annual Wheelchair Sunday over the weekend. They collected $27,517, plus received $2,700 before the weekend, for a total raised of $30,217 for 201 wheelchairs. Since it is estimated that each wheelchair delivered changes and improves an average of 10 lives, they will impact 2,010 lives. Their funds will go towards providing a large container of 280 wheelchairs for the Guanajuato CRIT Center in Mexico.

There were 19 donors that received a Lady of Guadalupe lithograph for their $500 or more donation and many donation envelopes were handed out.

Thank you so much to Fr. Andrew Semler for his awesome support of this mission and to Brother Ronnie Cechan for again coordinating the event, helping at all 6 Masses and reading all 5 English pulpit talks. Thanks also to the many Brother Knights that helped and to the St. Jude parishioners for their kindness and generosity in providing these wheelchairs for children in need.

God bless all of you.

Blessings,

Brother Bill Weber
Texas Wheelchair Chairman
