Father John and Brother Knights,
St. Thomas Aquinas Council #11937 in Dallas and the Dallas Diocese held a very successful First Annual Wheelchair Sunday over the weekend. They collected $21,135 for 140 wheelchairs. Since it is estimated that each wheelchair delivered changes and improves an average of 10 lives, they will impact 1,400 lives. Their funds will provide a large container of 280 wheelchairs for the Sonora CRIT Center in Hermosillo City, Mexico.
Eighteen donors received a Lady of Guadalupe lithograph for their $500 or more donation, and many donation envelopes were handed out.
Thank you so much to Fr. John Libone for your tremendous support of this mission and to Brothers Garry Gagnon and Matthew Aguirre from Council #11937 for coordinating your first event. Thanks also to the fantastic staff of St. Thomas Aquinas, Kim Campise, and the many Brother Knights who helped at all 7 Masses and read all 7 English pulpit talks.
Thanks to the St. Thomas Aquinas parishioners for their kindness and generosity in providing these wheelchairs for children in need. God bless all of you.
Blessings,
Ricardo Guzman-Hefferan
