St. Pius X Wheelchair Sunday Update

First Lady, Father Salvador and Brother Knights,

San Pio X Council #14568 in Dallas held a very successful Wheelchair Sunday over the past two weekends. They collected $28,007, plus received online donations of $2,475, for a total raised of $30,482 for 203 wheelchairs. This far exceeds the $25,662 for 171 they raised 4 years ago.

Since it is estimated that each wheelchair delivered changes and improves an average of 10 lives, they will impact 2,030 people. Their funds will go towards providing a large container of 280 wheelchairs for the Durango CRIT Center in Mexico.

There were 9 Our Lady of Guadalupe lithographs given to donors of $500 or more and there were 9 requests from parishioners for wheelchairs.

Thank you so much to Fr. Salvador Guzman for his awesome support of this mission by allowing the Knights to speak at all 16 Masses over the two weekends. Many thanks to Brother Eduardo Valenzuela for the great job of coordinating the event and helping and speaking at all but two of the Masses. Thanks also to the many other Brother Knights that helped, especially Brother Cesar Ponce that helped at all the Masses both weekends. And thank you to the St. Pius X parishioners for their kindness and generosity in providing these wheelchairs for children in need. God bless all of you.
