Successful Blood Drive

Assembly 1601 sponsored a community wide blood drive on October 29 with the assistance of the Texoma Blood Center which provides the blood supply to five local hospitals. Blood supplies are extremely low due to the pandemic and drives like this are important to maintain adequate supply of blood. Discussing the success of the drive is SK Edward Diaz, FN of Assembly 1601 with the phlebotomists of the blood center. The effort collected 70% of the entire blood drawn at the central office of the center in one day. Utilizing the mobile blood van, which was set up in the parking lot of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Denison, Texas, the blood drive was co-sponsored by Councils 830 and 1289. The drive was supported by the pastors of St. Patrick as well as St. Michaels and All Angels in Denison and St. Mary in Sherman.
