Father Sanchez and Brother Knights,
Holy Family of Nazareth Council #5243 at St. Luke Catholic Church in Irving, and the Dallas Diocese, held a successful Wheelchair Sunday over the weekend as they raised $11,685 for 78 wheelchairs. Their funds will be used to help provide a large container of 280 wheelchairs for the Guerrero CRIT Center in Acapulco, Mexico. Since it is estimated that each wheelchair delivered changes and improves an average of 10 lives, they will make an immediate impact in the lives of 780 people.
There were 9 Our Lady of Guadalupe lithographs given out to donors of $500 or more and lots of donation envelopes handed out.
Thank you so much to Fr. Ernesto Esqueda Sanchez for his wonderful support of this mission. Many thanks to Brother Loren Hedrick for coordinating the event, helping at all 8 Masses and reading the pulpit talk so well at the English and Portuguese Masses. Grateful to the other Brother Knights that helped, especially Brother Ricardo Guzman-Hefferan and Grand Knight Joe Sanchez that helped at all the Masses. And thank you to the parishioners of St. Luke Catholic Church for their generosity in providing these 78 wheelchairs.
God bless all of you.
